Privacy
Simple Apps Online has no accounts and no ads. Audio and sensor readings never leave your device. A checklist is stored on a server only when you choose to share it live, and we use Google Analytics to count visits. This page explains exactly what the site uses and why.
Microphone (Sound Meter)
- Your browser asks for microphone permission only after you tap Start measuring.
- Audio is analysed in your browser to calculate a loudness level. It is never recorded, uploaded or stored.
- The microphone is released when you tap Stop or leave the page.
- You can revoke microphone access at any time in your browser's site settings.
Motion sensors (Bubble Level)
- The level reads your device's orientation sensor only while the page is open.
- On iPhone and iPad, Safari asks for permission after you tap Enable motion sensors.
- Orientation readings stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.
Checklist
- Your own checklists are saved in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
- A copy link carries the list inside the link, after the
#. Browsers don't send that part to any server, so the list only travels wherever you send the link. - A live checklist is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (in the United States) so it can sync between devices. We store only the title, the items, whether each is done, and when the list was created and last renamed. Live lists are not linked to your name, email or device.
- Anyone with a live link can view, edit and delete that list, so only share it with people you trust. Choosing Delete for everyone removes it from the database.
Storage on your device
The site saves a few preferences in your browser's local storage so they are there next time:
- Your light or dark theme choice.
- Bubble level calibration and sound meter calibration offsets.
- Countdown timer settings: the last duration and whether sound and vibration alerts are on.
- Your checklist, and the links of live checklists you've opened.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them. Apart from live checklists and the analytics described below, nothing is stored on servers.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which tools are useful. It records page views (the page address only), a few events (a tool was opened, started or stopped, whether a permission was allowed or denied, a checklist was shared as a copy or live, and clicks to Simple HIIT Timer), and general information Google Analytics collects about every visit: approximate location, browser, device type and how you arrived.
Analytics never receives audio, sensor readings, timer values, checklist titles or items, or the part of a checklist link after the #, which is where copies and live list keys are kept. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.
In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off until you choose Allow analytics. Elsewhere they are on by default. You can change your choice here at any time:
Cookies
The only cookies are Google Analytics' _ga and _ga_* cookies, which tell repeat visits apart and last up to two years. They are set only when analytics cookies are on, and turning analytics off deletes them.
External links
Links to Simple HIIT Timer and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Like any website, our hosting provider processes standard request information such as IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
